Application instructions:

As stated above, to be eligible for an NFP fellowship, candidates need to be admitted to the master’s degree programme for which they would like an NFP fellowship.  Thus to be eligible for an NFP fellowship, you must be admitted to the master’s degree programme, short course or PhD study, for which you would like to use the fellowship.

For 2013-2014, the first deadline for fellowship applications is 5 February 2013 depending on the course.  The deadline for academic applications is earlier, about 1-2 months earlier than the fellowship applications deadline. Therefore, candidates are strongly advised to start the application procedure for admission as early as possible.  The next deadlines are 7 May and 1 October 2013.

Fellowship applications then have to be submitted through Scholarships Online (SOL). Through SOL, candidates can apply for fellowships online and they can check the status of an application. Other parties such as the Dutch institutions, the embassies and consulates will use SOL to assess NFP fellowship applications.

It is important to read the NFP  Rules and Regulations 2013-2014 and visit the official website (link found below) for detailed information on how to apply for this scholarship.

Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships in Humanities, University of Oxford, UK

The Wolfson Foundation seeks to support excellence and has provided longstanding support for higher education and the humanities. The Foundation has been concerned about the funding situation for the humanities and the potential impact of increasedundergraduate debt on the ability of students to progress to postgraduate studies.

The Foundation is addressing these concerns by creating the Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships in the Humanities. The Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding humanities students who demonstrate the potential to make an impact on their chosen field (history, literature and languages). Wolfson Scholarships are awarded solely on academic merit.

In line with the Foundation’s policy of backing excellence, scholarships are offered at a carefully selected group of nine universities that have strengths across the three disciplines, of which the University of Oxford is one. Oxford has been awarded three scholarships and is providing matched funding to enable a total of six scholarships to be awarded for the 2013-14 academic year.

The Wolfson Foundation was instrumental in the establishment of Wolfson College. To reflect this relationship, at least three of the new scholars will join Wolfson College.

Am I eligible?
The Scholarships are open to candidates of all nationalities, who should be applying to start a new doctoral course at Oxford.

The Scholarships are available in three disciplines that align closely with the Foundation’s interests: history, literature and languages. The Scholarships are available for doctoralresearch only.

Students should have an outstanding academic record, usually a first class honours degree at undergraduate level and a Master’s degree from a recognised university in a cognate field of study to their proposed doctoral research.

What does it cover?
100% of university and college fees, and a grant for living costs of at least £15,000 per annum. Funds for research and training costs will also be available to scholars. Awards are made for three years.

How do I apply?
